President Uhuru Kenyatta Sunday thanked the Nairobi Chapel members for supporting needy high school students.
Speaking when he attended a service at the church, the President commended the church for the establishment of the Jubilee Scholarship Fund to help needy secondary school students. The fund is sponsoring 160 students.
He applauded the church leadership, under Pastor Nick Korir, for leading a team of Motor Bike Riders to South Africa last December to mark Kenya’s 50 years since independence and raise funds.
“It is a wonderful thing for people to give up their holiday, time and resources to make a difference. One person cannot make it, but together we can make meaningful change to bring in the lives of others,” President Kenyatta said.
Pastor Korir told the President to lead the country with courage as God will give him the ability and wisdom to deal with the challenges that come with it. He urged Kenyans to pray for the leadership of the country as the Government deals with insecurity.
